Recognition at the German SME Summit: Ranga Yogeshwar congratulates agilimo Consulting GmbH from Elsenfeld on being awarded the TOP 100 seal. The award ceremony took place at the Summit on June 28 in Weimar for all SMEs that received the TOP 100 seal at the beginning of the year. The science journalist is mentoring the innovation competition, which is being held for the 31st time. In the scientific selection process, agilimo Consulting was particularly convincing in size category A (up to 50 employees) in the “Innovation success” category. This is the third time that the company has been one of the top innovators.
The company portrait published on the occasion of the TOP 100 award states (excerpt): Companies and public authorities are not immune to cyber attacks, especially when it comes to mobile working. To prevent them, agilimo looks for weak points from the attacker’s perspective and creates protection concepts. The company is thus transforming itself from a pure consulting firm into a provider of cybersecurity, operations and services. A current example is the first German INDIGO project, with which the medium-sized company enables highly secure, ultra-mobile working.
From the idea to an exclusive provider
The story of INDIGO, the Apple security product for transmitting information via iPhone and iPad, sounds exciting:
“INDIGO, our latest innovation for highly secure, ultra-mobile work in accordance with the VS-NfD secrecy standard, was initiated by an employee. At the beginning it was just an idea, but now we are the only ones who fully meet the strict requirements of the Federal Office for Information Security (BSI).”
Heinrich attributes this success to the lively climate of innovation within the company. Every individual can contribute ideas, the management supports the development with budget and time – and looks for strategic partners for the innovations.

In addition to the INDIGO solution, the efficient cyber defense solution for municipalities is another example of success. In order to cope with the increasing number of orders, 12 new colleagues were hired in 2023 – all recommended by employees. Jours fixes and collaboration tools are used to decide which ideas to pursue further. For its “cyber security made in Germany”, agilimo prefers to use German products and German-speaking employees in order to provide its customers with the best service around the clock.
Good prospects for business development
The medium-sized company is now known in the media, among partners, companies and authorities as an innovative driver with a big head start. Managing Director Thomas Edelmann explains the steep growth:
“With cybersecurity products and INDIGO alone, we expect sales to at least triple in the next few years.”
