Hat trick: agilimo TOP innovator for the third time

Newly crowned innovation champion: agilimo Consulting GmbH from Elsenfeld has received the TOP 100 seal 2024 – for the third time in a row. The award only honors particularly innovative medium-sized companies. Science journalist Ranga Yogeshwar will personally congratulate agilimo on this success at the award ceremony on June 28th in Weimar. Yogeshwar has accompanied the TOP 100 innovation competition as a mentor for twelve years.

On behalf of compamedia, the organizer of the competition, the innovation researcher Prof. Dr. Nikolaus Franke from the Vienna University of Economics and Business and his team assessed the innovative strength of all participants based on more than 100 criteria from five categories: innovation-promoting top management, innovation climate, innovative processes and organization, external orientation/open innovation and innovation success. “Are companies able to create new products, new services, new processes and new business models? And are these achievements just coincidences or the result of a structured and targeted approach? We examine these questions at TOP 100,” says Nikolaus Franke, explaining his approach to the review. What is also important is how and whether new products and product improvements have been able to establish themselves on the market (further information on the test criteria can be found at http://www.top100.de/pruefkritik).

agilimo Consulting prevailed in the scientific selection process and is one of the top innovators for the third time after 2022 and 2023. agilimo is based in the IT industry and has made a name for itself in the areas of IT security, cybersecurity and mobile security.

Innovation is part of the agilimo DNA

“agilimo Consulting GmbH is one of the experts in Germany when it comes to ultra-mobile and highly secure work with company data.”

This is how CEO Marcus Heinrich explains the position in which the company he founded has established itself. On the way to today’s development, innovation was and is a key factor for Heinrich, without which the company’s continuous growth would not be possible.

Fellow managing director Thomas Edelmann, who as CTO is responsible for technical development, shares this perspective and explains how innovation is practiced every day at agilimo:

“Innovation is always a change that goes hand in hand with further development and growth. In our everyday work, we actively encourage our employees to be open to this attitude. In the end, we can continue to design new solutions together that will help our customers and users grow.”

With their team, the managing directors implement pioneering, highly secure and ultra-mobile IT solutions for customers – solutions that are based on the requirements of the people who use them. And today’s essential need for protection for the data you work with.

Rethinking the limits of what is possible - world first INDIGO in a box.

INDIGO in a box, the latest evolution in agilimo’s range of services, is also a result of this culture of innovation and the constantly increasing need for IT security. Driven by digitalization and increasing cyber threats, solutions for highly secure and ultra-mobile working must also constantly develop.

Together with exclusive partners, the Elsenfelder team developed the world’s first INDIGO in a box, which makes it possible for the first time to activate end devices according to the VS-NfD standard regardless of location and combines high flexibility with maximum security.

INDIGO stands for iOS Native Device In Government Operation and is a hardened operating system configuration from Apple for iOS (from version 15.1) and iPadOS (from version 15.6.1), which enables highly secure communication natively at the device level – without any additional hardware or software from third parties.

Authorities and companies can use Apple INDIGO to implement ultra-mobile and highly secure work with iPhones and iPads in accordance with the VS-NfD secrecy level. In addition to complete compliance with the VS-NfD requirements, the central prerequisite for this is the use of an approved VPN from a certified provider, as well as a Darkside MDM, which makes the communication of end devices on the Internet invisible to third parties.

Due to these security features, the Federal Office for Information Security (BSI) has recommended Apple INDIGO specifically for use in official and governmental environments to protect sensitive data and information. Its high security properties also make Apple INDIGO interesting for the private sector when special protection is required for sensitive data. These include, among others, KRITIS and secret protection companies, as well as the financial sector.

INDIGO in a box - so well thought out that it fits in a box

The commissioning of highly secure Apple devices with a Darksite MDM solution according to the VS-NfD standard takes place by activating the end devices in the locally protected environment of a data center. For authorities or companies to get an optimal and quick start to ultra-mobile and highly secure work, the Apple INDIGO solution was designed so that the technology can be delivered to the customer fully configured and ready for use. All necessary and approved components for VS-NfD-compliant commissioning of iPhones and iPads are contained in a compact box. This makes it possible to put an individual Darksite MDM into operation for the customer efficiently and in a very short time.

“With INDIGO in a box, organizations can easily and quickly activate their end devices for ultra-mobile and highly secure work and ensure maximum protection for sensitive data. The innovation shows that INDIGO solutions are efficient and absolutely practical in the right technology setup.”

One-Stop INDIGO solution - everything from a single source

agilimo Consulting is one of the pioneers for Apple Indigo solutions. In an exclusive partnership with Rohde Schwarz Cybersecurity and Materna Virtual Solution, three technology pioneers are working together and combining their expertise in a product for the customer that completely covers all VS-NfD requirements.

Customers benefit from the one-stop solution in two ways. In addition to the convenient holistic implementation from a single source, the exclusive partners also act as a unit when it comes to support and assume 100% operational responsibility towards the customer. For the customer, zero-risk support means that a technical problem with their INDIGO solution will always be resolved by the provider without the question of responsibility having to be clarified.

Equal opportunities for all TOP 100 participants

To ensure equal opportunities, the TOP 100 seal is awarded in three size classes: up to 50, 51 to 200 and more than 200 employees. In what is now the 31st edition of the innovation competition, 388 medium-sized companies applied for the award. 287 were successful and have carried the TOP 100 seal 2024 since February 1st. A maximum of 100 companies can be awarded per size category.

On June 28th, all top innovators from the class of 2024 will gather in the “congress centrum Weimarhalle” for the award ceremony as part of the German SME Summit. Ranga Yogeshwar will personally congratulate them on their success in TOP 100.
